At any rate, don't position it in front of the pipe. The air it draws from behind needs to be cooler than the fan itself to operate correctly. If anyone is doubtful, they really DO help to move warm air around the house :-)Wandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14674861197059323883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523947263063587415.post-64420701084927959592017-01-02T15:31:04.370+00:002017-01-02T15:31:04.370+00:00Us too and when its time to let the fire die down ...Us too and when its time to let the fire die down we watch it slow too! I would be annoyed at seeing it cheaper too - I shall satisfy myself by presuming the Aldi one was not so well made (probably was not, but it makes me feel better).TrishWishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12133314088190424463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523947263063587415.post-46677454955616141212017-01-02T15:01:06.426+00:002017-01-02T15:01:06.426+00:00We bought one a few years ago. We sit transfixed waiting for it to start spinning when we light the fire.... sad or what :-)Cheriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01049568808770731003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523947263063587415.post-32146995464606628562017-01-02T13:34:18.576+00:002017-01-02T13:34:18.576+00:00Watching it get going is far more interesting than...Watching it get going is far more interesting than the current TV fare!TrishWishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12133314088190424463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523947263063587415.post-40471766808671215902017-01-02T13:33:44.290+00:002017-01-02T13:33:44.290+00:00We replaced an open fire about 2 years ago, it was...We replaced an open fire about 2 years ago, it was horribly expensive especially the lining for the flue. But we love it!TrishWishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12133314088190424463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523947263063587415.post-32406526341221591462017-01-01T23:05:56.758+00:002017-01-01T23:05:56.758+00:00My daughter has one much smaller than yours and so...My daughter has one much smaller than yours and so does my friend. I have examined it from every angle and it fascinates me how the heck it works, obviously by heat as it starts spinning when it gets hot and ceases when it cools. My daughter and friend both agree it does circulate the heat.Living Alone in Your 60'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08848266282669835475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523947263063587415.post-233006573544831932017-01-01T21:03:39.024+00:002017-01-01T21:03:39.024+00:00I'll be interested to read whether the fan thi...I'll be interested to read whether the fan thing works. The house we're moving to (fingers crossed) has open fireplaces and we've always wanted a wood burner so are looking in to having one fitted. Anything that increases its effectiveness will be welcome. Happy New Year, love Helen xxHelenghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04963972925920465515noreply@blogger.com
