Had to carefully check that yet another hot day would be windless or if anything stirred it would be northerly otherwise one flap of the sheets would wipe out the 7 foot high delphiniums that have grown to close to the path.
My husband fed this bed with gromore this spring and the continuous May rains has made everything grow magnificently.
Second problem of the day was how to cook more cauliflower. The problem with grow your own can be gluts. Last week it was 8 broccoli. This week it was in 6 cauliflower. Quick G9oogle gave me an idea for cauliflower and potato curry with boiled eggs. Yummy and filling lunch. And a change from cauliflower cheese. Much needed after a morning of grass cutting over our acre back garden. Think I have sun burn on the back of my neck!
Your curry looks wonderful. I usually freeze gluts. Sometimes it works, sometimes it is a complete disaster.
ReplyDeleteLove how tall your delphiniums are.
God bless.
I am not to d of frozen and have similar results.
DeleteI love cauliflower, it's my favourite vegetable. And cauliflower curry is great.
ReplyDeletea trick for next year , sow just three seeds once a week in the same tra y and you get staggered ready cauliflowers not all at once , im still doing this as i try for real late crops and dont need large sized stuff now its just us
ReplyDeleteGood idea. We have gradually reduced a lot of our growing especially as visitors are now a rarity.
DeleteThat curry sounds yummy. Glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteI have never had a glut as my veggie garden is rather small - except maybe rhubarb but have lots of friends who will come and pick it!
