Litter picking

Joined group of volunteers on foggy Sunday morning for village clean up. 500 yards of verge, both sides, on road into village found 6 empty vodka bottles. Could only have been tossed from a car as there is no footpath along there.  Driving under influence?

Worse 20 yards stretch outside a very posh detached house with a drive full of expensive cars. Whole bag of rubbish collected on verge outside which they drive past to get into their entrance.

Life can be so worrying!!!

  1. I live very near to the 'South downs' and despair at the amount of plastic bags and rubbish in the hedgerows. I can't understand why the council do not arrange for it to be picked up. I'm sure there would be an army of volunteers if they advertised.

    1. The parish council were supposed to advertise. The "staff" managed 2 posters in a very spread out village. Hopeless.

  2. I just cannot understand why anyone would throw things out their car windows! Besides being illegal (here in my part of the US), it is just plain rude.

  3. The schools I worked in always did a trash pick up every year. It is amazing to me how people can let that stuff just linger.

    God bless.
