My scarecrow made it out to the front gate once the first storm abated after breakfast and then had to endure a thunder storm! No rain for 10 weeks and then on the village scarecrow weekend it pours. Typical.
Mine was very ordinary. Some of the others were wonderful! Even the local co op supermarket joined in.
As we don't have decorative parkland (just sports fields) and the public woodland is a mile outside village it has been hard to motivate the children to walk round the very scattered community so people have been doing all sorts to help motivate them. Rainbow counts, teddies in windows, painted stones to find, bunting, animal cartoons hidden in hedges, location of the best largest/ancient tree, footpath information, etc.
Very clever and lots of fun, typical weather
ReplyDeleteThis scarecrow display will get the local children out and walking. I think your cute scarecrow might like to ask the blue lady scarecrow for a date, she has a rather come hither pose. How nice the village is pitching in with teddies in windows, animals in hedges, etc. I am sure the adults like it as much as the kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
DeleteHow lovely and so imaginative. It would bring a smile to anyone's face.
ReplyDeleteHope the weather improves for the rest of the weekend. Such a shame when people go to the trouble of putting out decorations.
ReplyDeleteIt dried a bit later in the day and more people came round this way. Saw cars with families till quite late.
DeleteWow, what wonderful displays. People are very creative.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It was followed by loads of people on line and we saw lots of people come and look at ours right up to late in the evenings.
