Giving stuff away

Our village Facebook page is full of "stuff" people put out for free at their gates, mostly plastic toys. Late yesterday afternoon I put out a FREE message, saying it would be on verge around 10am on Saturday. By 10.05 the first person dew up, by 11.30 they were all (20) gone.

Who would think a few scruffy spare plants would be so attractive on a damp dull morning?

Just as well all gone by then, as its 3 pm and its started to snow.

Prompted by my FB post, an acquaintance in the village just messaged me to say she was house packing ready to move to Kent. Shocked. She was so entrenched in village life here (various committees) and how did she manage to view houses in Covid times? Also jealous as it is one of the areas we are contemplating and we have not made our first step to achieve anything yet.

  1. They were talking to estate agents on the radio the other day. Its seems like they have continued to work fairly normally within safe guidelines, after all it was the chancellor who gave the stamp duty holiday that has driven the housing boom in the last year. Like you I'm desperate to move, I'm hoping the stamp duty holiday continues as estate agents are predicting. I always look at the local FB page, theres some great stuff on there. Well done on giving someone else the pleasure of summer strawberries. Good luck when you sell up.

  2. House moving and all things connected with it are allowed. - They have to be because of the Stamp Duty Holiday that Gov. announced in the summer - to keep house buying and selling going keeps lots of other people in business. I'm glad as it meant a quicker sale for me and higher price!!

  3. Moving is a big upheaval. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to wave a magic wand and be transported to a new house?

  4. Glad you got rid of your extra plants.

It seems like a great many UK bloggers are moving or wanting to move. Hope whatever you decide works out.

    God bless.
